As an Associate Principal Scientist in Analytical R&D, Analytical Enabling Technologies, you will lead efforts to enable the discovery of new candidate molecules in our biologics and small molecule portfolios, including emerging modalities. Key deliverables will include the invention, implementation, and execution of analytical measurement technologies that may accelerate the pace of discovery research and influence molecular design. The successful candidate must be able to collaborate in a dynamic, integrated, and multidisciplinary team environment which bridges early discovery research with a line of sight to clinical scale manufacturing. We leverage a broad range of tools (e.g., spectroscopic, chromatographic, mass spectrometry, etc.) to influence the selection of candidate molecules, enhance scalability and robustness, and to identify and contribute to new technology research and data analyses related to the discovery of novel therapeutics.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge in the discovery and development paradigms for biopharmaceutical products, and proficiency in more than one of the following areas: chromatography, mass spectrometry, and lab automation. Strong fundamental knowledge in recent advances in analytical technologies is highly desired. Applicants must have effective organizational, multi-tasking, oral / written communications skills, have demonstrated scientific leadership, and a desire to conduct research and publish. Education Minimum Requirement: PhD in Chemistry or a related field with 4 years of industrial experience
Required Experience and Skills:
* Excellent written and verbal communication
* Demonstrated record of innovation and publication of novel research
* Experience with high throughput analytical methods
* Chromatography (e.g. UPLC, cIEF, SEC, HIC, IEX)
* Mass Spectrometry (structural elucidation, peptide mapping, proteomics)
Preferred Experience and Skills:
* Experience with monoclonal antibodies
* MALDI - Mass Spectrometry
* Lab automation and technology hardware/software integration
