Overview
The Payroll Lead Americas is responsible for the the delivery of all payroll services for Organon employees based in the US, Puerto Rico and Canada. This primarily includes:
* Managing internal and external company processes as they relate to Payroll, including ongoing supplier relationship management with ADP Assure adherence to agreed service levels (quantitative and qualitative) while driving a culture of service excellence.
* Ensuring sound operational performance with a continuous improvement mindset related to payroll, time administration, tax filings, tax and payroll audits, garnishment processing, and general ledger postings.
* Leading a team of 3 payroll and tax specialists,
* Ensuring adherence to all Federal, State, and Local regulations governing employee/employer tax and pay practices; as well as any applicable Company policies and financial audit requirements..
* Acting as the Payroll workstream lead cross functional projects, such as mergers, acquisitions, and divestures.
* Partnering with key stakeholders including HR Benefits and Compensation COEs, Labor Relations, Global Mobility, Legal, Finance, and other functional support areas on policy changes and process improvements
Essential Functions:
Service Delivery & Escalation:
* Manage all escalated Payroll & Benefits delivery issues and resolve on time
* Review regional Payroll delivery, establish SLAs, implement governance and identify opportunities for improvement & drive for long-term success
* Execute the global payroll supplier strategy in collaboration with procurement and CoEs, engage and co-ordinate with CoE teams, defining strategies and requirements, driving harmonization and adoption of standard service offerings
* Act as key project lead to deploy global and regional projects/initiatives ensuring delivery of high-quality services and processes to the business
Vendor & Supplier Management:
* Create clearly defined performance parameters that are agreed upon by all parties involved
* Monitor performance, provide feedback, define or approve/disapprove change control processes
* Ensure that strong organizational structure and processes are put in place to manage and track relationships, contracts, and service-level agreements (SLAs) with the supplier.
* Manage supplier to ensure high quality of service delivery across benefits and payroll
* Manage SLA definition, service level monitoring and provides operational feedback to inform supplier negotiations, in alignment with global Payroll Strategy Lead
* Lead process improvement efforts to standardize Payroll processes across markets, leverage best practices, and reduce complexity
Stakeholder partnership & effective communication :
* Develop a trusted advisor relationship with relevant stakeholders through effective communication
* Serve as the primary, daily contact to the business on delivery of Payroll & Benefits operations across the regional markets
* Main escalation point for all country Payroll & Benefits issues in relation to service delivery within the business
* Responsible for ensuring all resolved issues are analyzed and communicated to ensure thorough resolution across the region.
* Escalating all SME input as to country-specific requirements to the benefit of regional and global solutions and ensuring appropriate solutions are thought out and implemented.
Leadership / Change Management:
* Drive team engagement and collaboration across regional Payroll & Benefits team
* Partner closely with US and Canada HR Community to address business needs and issues proactively
* Actively participate in strategy development and implementation with payroll & benefits administration stakeholders and suppliers and ensure service delivery at high-performance level
* Facilitate knowledge sharing and support individual & team development
Skills/Knowledge Required/Preferred
* Solid experience working in a matrix HR operating model, with a centralized HR Service Delivery organization, demonstrated experience in managing outsourced and insourced Service Delivery in a team leader function (ideally in Human Resources, Payroll or Benefits Administration)
* Proven excellence in managing mid-sized teams, disbursed across multiple countries
* Track record of building strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external partners
* Demonstrated ability to work in teams and collaborate / partner with others from across the business
* Effective communication and influencing skills, demonstrated ability to drive engagement and change within a team and organization
* Able to work effectively at all levels in an organization. Problem solving and root cause identification skills (continuous improvement experience ideal
* Strong attention to detail and follow up; strong analytical skills together with developed business acumen
Minimum Experience Required/Preferred
* Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline.
* A minimum of 8 years of experience in Payroll, Tax, benefit administration
* A minimum of 2 years of experience leading a team
* Experience with ADP COS model
* CPP Certification preferred
* Fluent Spanish Speaker preferred
