Job Description
Raleigh General Hospital
Under the supervision of an RN, performs basic patient care activities.
Transcribes/Monitors physician orders and provides patient care.
Maintains equipment and supplies.
Communicates appropriate information intradepartmentally and interdepartmentally. Maintains accurate emergency department charts and records.
Assists and participates in patient and staff education and pursues continuing education for professional development.
Applies knowledge of age-related factors appropriately to patients, utilizing appropriate policies and procedures.
Performs phlebotomies
Maintains a clean work area and proper stock on supplies.
Applies knowledge of age related factors appropriately to patients, utilizing appropriate policies and procedures
Assures provision of optimum quality patient care by serving as facilitator through performance of clerical duties related to patient care and by continuing personal development.
Reports to: Director of Emergency Services

Job Requirements
Minimum Education
High school diploma or equivalent - Required
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) - to be obtained within 30 days of employment
Minimum Work Experience
Previous relevant experience - Preferred
