Raleigh General Hospital
Assures optimum quality patient care by serving as resource person for other staff member, patient and family. Coordinates patient care with other departments. Assists the physician.
Oversees treatment of medical and surgical patients needing life saving dialysis procedures. Dialysis delivery of care includes assessment, problem identification, interventions and treatments, and evaluation of actual, potential or perceived physical or psychological problems. Procedures or treatments provided in Dialysis include but are not limited to: dialysis admission assessment, medication, IV therapy, administration of blood and blood products, pain control, O2 therapy, assisting physician with Quintons, dressing application and changes, Quinton Cath, declotting Quinton catheters, accessing AV shunt for diagnostic tests i.e. venograms, monitoring patient continually during Hemoreplacement treatment, maintenance of NG tubes and hyperalimentation while in the dialysis suite only.
Performs assessment skills.
Plans nursing care.
Intervenes with appropriate action after needs are identified.
Evaluates the assessment, planning and intervention process.
Demonstrates professional and personal development.
Delivers direct patient care appropriate to the age of patient served including adult and geriatric patients.

Job Requirements
Minimum Education
Graduate of a Program in Discipline - Required
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications:Basic Life Support (BLS) - to be obtained within 3 days
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - to be obtained within 6 months
Required Licenses[West Virginia, United States] Other
Current licensure by the WV State Board of Nursing
