Title: Quality Assurance Technician
Reports To: Quality Assurance Team Leader
Overall Focus: Retrieve samples and perform required tests to ensure compliance with specifications. Perform advanced test and equipment calibration as assigned.
FLSA Designation: Hourly non-exempt
Level: T5
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES and ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Retrieve samples according to established schedule
* Analyze samples according to established methods to ensure adherence to specifications
* Collect results
* Enter results into database
* Review results to ensure compliance with specifications
* Provide feedback to operators and manufacturing mangers regarding non-conforming products and packaging
* Communicate results according to established communication methods
* Ensure that lab is clean at all times following established cleaning and sanitation practices
* Maintain and calibrate lab equipment and the HR equipment
* Perform microbiological testing
* Ensures that the Company Food Safety program is adhered to
* Ensures that all SOPs are being followed
* All Staff shall be informed to report food safety issues to supervision with the authority to initiate action.
* Alerts QA Manager for need to update or modify SOPs based on needed changes to the processes
* Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures and job instructions
* Take corrective actions when measures are out of specification
* Take and document required process, quality measures
* Meet or exceed established targets
* Works directly with SQF program
* Adhere to all sanitation procedures
* Follow all GMPs
* Keep process areas clean and neat
* Ensure all areas meet sanitation requirements
* Adheres to sanitation procedures
* Report all unsafe actions and conditions

QUALIFICATIONS
(Knowledge and skills necessary to meet organizational objectives)
Education / Experience: Associates Degree or 3-5 years experience in a Quality Assurance or Food Manufacturing setting and a High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelors Degree preferred.

* Move items of 55-80 lbs. in weight from one place to another
* Stack repetitiously 60 lbs. or less
* Able to differentiate between colors
* Able to work in extreme temperature conditions (very hot or very cold)
Ability to regularly function in a typical office environment and operate related equipment computer, copier, telephone, etc., as well as, low risk manufacturing environment able to observe and get around equipment, using PPE, if required.
