We have the unique and significantrole to partner with NASA at Johnson Space Center (JSC), to be part of everyhuman spaceflight program the International Space Station (ISS), NASAs Orionspacecraft, which will carry astronauts into deep space, and Gateway, theorbiting platform providing the home for astronauts to work and travel back andforth to the moons surface, and serving as the platform for deep spaceexploration. From critical systems onthe ISS to enable astronauts to live and work in space; to performing advanceddevelopment for systems leading to deep space exploration; to being part of thefoundation for Gateway.

We also partner with NASA at JSC,the only NASA center in the United States to curate all astromaterial samplesreturned from exploration missions, to perform curation services, orbitaldebris analysis, and basic research to further humankinds understanding of theorigins of our solar system.

We are currently in need of a Propulsion Engineer - Gateway Program tojoin our team. Do you have the following skills?

The Propulsion Engineer - Gateway Program will:

* Apply extensive job practices, techniques, standards,principles, theories, and concepts.

* Plan, conduct, coordinate and/or develop test requirementsand evaluate test results in order to ensure compliance with requirements.

* Perform and review engineering trade studies, analyses, testplans, and other engineering documentation such as requirements, procedures,analyses, and test reports.

* Perform and review trade studies and analyses that influencethe overall propulsion system design and performance.

* Lead analyses and testing to determine that compliancerequirements are met.

* Perform oversight function and advise to contractors responsiblefor development of propulsion systems for NASA.

* Work with team members to identify risks, develop riskstatements, and help them plan risk responses. Maintain a professionalrelationship with the NASA customer and other NASA support contractors.

* Perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
RequiredEducation/Experience/Skills:

This position hasbeen posted at multiple levels. Depending on the candidates experience,requirements and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates atany level for which this position has been advertised.

* Bachelorsdegree in engineering (mechanical, aerospace, electrical, chemical) from anaccredited engineering school and or five (5) years of related engineeringexperience, or a MS degree from an accredited engineering school and four (4)years of related engineering experience, or Ph.D. from an accreditedengineering school and zero (0) years of related experience.

* Knowledgeof methods for liquid propulsion systems for space vehicles.

* Knowledgeof chemical propulsion applications.

* Knowledgeof test principles, tools, and processes needed to develop test requirements.

* Knowledgeof propulsion system design, analysis principles, tools, and processes.

* Knowledgeof certification and/or qualification processes and procedures.

* Experiencein testing of propulsion system or their components for integration on a flightvehicle including development of test procedures and analysis techniques.

* Abilityto perform propulsion design integration tasks within a team environment.

* Ableto organize and prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines and schedules withlimited supervision.

RequisitionPreferences:

* BSdegree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.

* Experiencewith Hydrazine, mmH (mono methyl Hydrazine), NO3, LOX (Liquid Oxygen), and LCH4(Liquid Methane) propellants.

* Experiencewith NASA/JSC Flight Hardware Life Cycle, Certification, and Engineeringprocesses.

* Workingknowledge of NASA, JSC, and ISS standard practices and requirements includingsafety, fault tolerance, and unique disciplines.

* Experiencewith the design, assembly, verification, testing, and operation of spacehardware.

Essential Functions

Work Environment
Generally an office environment, butcan involve inside or outside work depending on task.

Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). Mayrequire lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Equipment and Machines
Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).

Attendance
Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical.Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peakperiods and surge requirements when required.
