As part of Corporate Communications, the Corporate Narrative and Strategy team creates messaging, materials and communications plans that tell the IBM story on a company-wide level. The team guides the broader Communications & Citizenship (C&C) function with an up-to-date company narrative and leads the creation of corporate level documents/collateral including the Annual Report and materials for conferences such as THINK.

The team works closely with Corporate Strategy and ensures that our communications - both internally and externally are aligned with the overall corporate narrative. The team also plays a key role in longer term planning of corporate communications initiatives to support IBMs key focus areas and growth story.

The job will give you an opportunity to work with people across IBM. The ability to work well with people at all levels and across both the communications department and business units is extremely important. Excellent story telling skills are essential. The candidate who will do well in this job will be creative, willing to try new approaches to storytelling and content creation, and ready to jump in to do whatever needs doing. Ideal candidate will also have strong project management and organizational skills.

Position Overview

As a writer and project manager on the team you will be responsible for drafting communications materials and content that supports the corporate narrative. This will include PowerPoint presentations, executive bylines, video scripts, infographic copy and other pieces of content that can be used to tell IBMs story. You will be responsible for organizing and maintaining a library of content for use across the C&C function.

You will work with other members of the team to develop communications campaigns that amplify the corporate narrative. You will also work with communications teams for the business and geographic units to mine stories that support the corporate narrative.

In addition to working on the corporate narrative and helping support our communications strategy, you will be responsible for helping with the production of the IBM Annual Report as needed including:

* Liaising with business units and other content producers to help manage collection of research and assets.
* Drafting copy.
* Helping with layout, production, vendor management.
* Organizing photo shoots or video production as necessary. Helping with logistics for the printing process.
* Helping to manage the content for the Annual Report website.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
* 4+ years in writing, content creation and editing, preferably as a journalist or communications professional.
* Strong PowerPoint skills.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
* Experience with corporate narrative and strategy a plus.
* Technology focus a plus but not required.
* Experience with social media content and strategy a plus.
* Experience with video production a plus.
* Website management experience a plus.
* Layout and content management system experience a plus.
