POSITION SUMMARY:

To perform switchboard activities of the department in accordance with applicable administrative and regulatory requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Greets incoming callers demonstrating customer service principles and behaviors appropriately.
* Routes all incoming calls and maintains appropriate telephone records.
* Operates the public address system consistent with established company protocol and procedure including Code Blue, Code Red, Code Orange, Code Strong, Code Alert, Code Delivery, Code Yellow, Code Heart, Code Brat Team, Code Yellow, Trauma Stat, Disasters, and Safety.
* Attends meetings as required.
* Demonstrates Customer Service/Service Plus principles and behaviors appropriately.
* Maintains facilities and equipment to ensure maximum efficiently.
* Contacts all On Call Personnel.
* Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED: (list required and preferred separately)

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Prior customer service skills training preferred

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: (list required and preferred separately)

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED: (list required and preferred separately)

Extensive PBX Console operation within a health care environment required.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Lucent PBX console

Basic knowledge of personal computer

Knowledge of Code Blue/Fire alarm procedures

Ability to work under pressure.
