POSITION SUMMARY: Charge Nurse, 4 South Cardiac Med Surg Department
Full time .9 12 hour Night shift

The Charge Registered Nurse is a member of the Nurse Leadership Team. Charge Nurse is responsible for the day-to-day floor supervision of the unit; shift-to-shift operations and implementation of the provision of patient care based upon the nursing process and in compliance with hospital policies, processes, protocols and procedures. The Charge Nurse ensures patient quality, safety and care meet and exceed MountainView Hospital and HCA standards for care and patient experience.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of 1.5 years of Acute Care RN experience

SPECIAL SKILLS:
Completes a competency skills checklist within 3 months of employment.
Maintains current competency with nursing skills required for the assigned unit/department, and demonstrates knowledge regarding Standards of Care and Standards of Practice in the assigned area.
Management of Aggressive Behavior/De-escalation Techniques course (CPI/hospital approved course within 90 days of hire).
Attend Trauma Informed Care course as directed by manager/director

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Current unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Nevada
Obtains ANCC national certification within 9 months of hire, transfer, and/or currently in the position.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing required
BSN required or has a plan to complete within 3 years of hire, transfer, and/or currently in position.
Valid CPR (American Heart Association or hospital approved CPR course
Valid ACLS required
Obtains National Certification required within 9 months of hire or transfer and/or currently in position
