About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Sustaining R&D Engineer supporting Coronary Therapies projects within the Interventional Cardiology division. This role will utilize a variety of new and proven technologies to deliver life-changing medical devices to patients and clinicians in support of BSCs mission.

Your responsibilities:

* Leading organizational initiatives that drive change and deliver performance improvements across a variety Sustaining and Commercial Execution projects involving complex electro-mechanical, hardware and software systems
* Collect data, synthesize, track and summarize key product and business insights for leadership and stakeholders
* Lead product non-conformance and complaint investigations
* Partner with other R&D and Design Assurance team members to inform new technology and new product development project strategies
* Manage and document Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA), Design Changes, and Change Notifications working with other R&D, Design Assurance, Program Management, and cross-functional team members
* Leverage internal/external partners as necessary to achieve project objectives
* Solve engineering problems by analyzing the situation and recommending corrective or alternative actions
* Analyze, evaluate, and verify requirements, component performance, and systems by using best engineering practices
* Successfully complete engineering work including technology development, product analysis and design, test method development and execution, requirement or specification development, technical reports, design verification and validation
* Facilitate crisp decision making around key technical and business issues
* Train and provide work direction to technicians and other engineers
* Create a strong team culture around high expectations and high performance
* In all actions, demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to all documented quality processes and procedures

What were looking for:

Minimum Qualifications

* BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent
* BS with 6 years or more experience or MS with 4 years or more experience

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with complex medical device systems including configuration management
* Experience IEC 60601-1 Safety and EMC, RoHS/REACH, among other common electronic equipment and medical device compliance standards
* Solid lab experience with debug, fixtures, and test equipment
* Expertise in design tools and analysis techniques
* Ability to provide leadership as it relates to design controls process and continuous improvement
* Ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations based on inputs from multiple and varied sources
* Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
