Field Service Engineer II
About the Role:
Field based service engineer responsible for the maintenance of medical electronic equipment offered by Boston Scientific. Services are predominantly provided for customers in hospitals, outpatient facilities and physicians offices. This position is based in the Michigan area that is one hour from one of the major airports: Preferred major Cities like Detroit, Flint, Ann Arbor, Lansing, Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids and Jackson.
Your Responsibilities Include:
System installation
Preventative and corrective maintenance
Equipment upgrades
Electronic troubleshooting & component replacement
In-servicing/training medical personnel
Reporting of field activities
What Were Looking For:
Required Qualifications:
* Two-year college degree (AA) preferred with Biomedical or electronics major (equivalent education accepted)
* Able to work independently and responsibly with some supervision & manage multiple assignments effectively
* Excellent computer networking, equipment troubleshooting, administrative and communication skills.
* Familiar with the use of all common electronic test equipment including Digital Multi-Meters and safety analyzers.
* Years of Field Service experience. 2 years minimum field service equipment, 2 years minimum preferred in medical equipment
* Ability to travel approximately 75% of the time.
* Ability to travel at a moments notice and for multiple days without constraints
* Have a vehicle for service 5 years or newer and meet insurance requirements for business.
* Have clean driving record
* Ability to obtain work permit in Canada.
* Perform other related duties as assigned, including special projects
Preferred Qualifications:
* Prior Technical Field Service, Biomedical, or Military technical MOS
* Electrophysiology, Laser, Medical Imaging, or Cath Lab technical/Clinical experience
Working Conditions:
Work requires extensive travel, 3 to 4 nights per week, possibly for several weeks in a row generally home on weekends. The position requires a significant amount of walking and occasional lifting of heavy items up to 75 lbs. Predominantly, work is performed in hospitals where a safe environment is provided.
