This position is located within the BioProduction Division within the Life Sciences Solutions Group.
How will you make an impact?
The Sr Product Manager is responsible for developing and implementing global product strategies to accelerate the growth of the Pharma Analytics business. Pharma Analytics is a dynamic business that focuses on product safety and product quality testing in the bioproduction space. The Sr Product Manager will be responsible for developing and commercializing new assay solutions that will standardize safety/quality testing in the emerging modality of next generation vaccines such mRNA, DNA, Viral Vector, and VLPs. Key success metrics of this position are revenue growth, portfolio profitability, and new product introductions.
What will you do?
* Develop and drive our roadmap in the vaccine market according to business strategy, from concept to commercialization to mature product (full product lifecycle)
* Conduct market research and understand the trends and changes in the new generation vaccine product safety/quality testing
* Conduct Voice of Customer (VOC) to document and quantitate market needs, and translate customer requirements into product specifications
* Champion successful launches through requirements, development, and commercialization. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the Sr Product Manager owns the ultimate customer and financial success of new product introductions (NPIs).
* Responsible for revenue, margin, customer satisfaction, and market share objectives.
* Serve as Vaccine Analytics champion with internal stakeholders, regional teams, and directly with customers including key accounts.
* Establish and manage partnerships with customers, suppliers, and industry opinion leaders.
* Be a key opinion leader (KOL) for their product line, represent Thermo Fisher Scientific externally at conferences and tradeshows, able to effectively communicate product strategy and tactics to the market.
* Work closely with outbound marketing, R&D and commercial leads, and will all stakeholders in the matrixed environment
How will you get here?
Education
* Bachelors in scientific field required
* Masters in scientific field or MBA strongly preferred
* Ph.D. in scientific field is preferred
Experience
* Minimum 6+ years, product management, R&D or market development experience.
* Demonstrated success in driving NPI from concept to launch
* Experience with conducting Voice of Customer (VOC) projects
* Familiar with qPCR and sequencing technologies
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Advanced knowledge of global vaccine market and competitive landscape.
* Working knowledge of quality and regulatory requirements in bioproduction.
* In depth technical understanding of product portfolio including the customer workflow and requirements
* Self-starter with the ability to create and execute plans with minimal supervision.
* Strong management, project management and planning skills, and comfortable making decisions and embracing changes.
* Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work in matrix organizational structure.
