Full-time, summer internship opportunity

Open to part-time work (15+ hours/week) beginning in Jan/Feb 2021

Responsibilities

The Accounting Support Intern will provide operational support of business objectives in one or more of the following areas: Expense Reimbursement, Payroll and Accounts Payable. The intern seeks to understand, helps define, and recommend change to existing processes, systems and applications to meet our current and future business needs. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to; processing invoices, reconciling vendor statements, auditing expense reports, processing payroll transactions and preparing operational reports.

Duration and Work Schedule

Open to part-time (15+) hours starting in January/February and/or full-time start in May/June 2021. Core office hours are 7:45am 4:30pm Monday through Friday. Start and end dates are flexible. There may be an opportunity to stay on part-time during the 2021-2022 academic year depending on course schedule and business needs. Due to current conditions we support virtual work until it is safe to return to the office.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

* Currently pursuing BS, BA, or Associates degree in accounting, finance, business or related field
* Completion of one or more semesters of accounting, finance, business or related coursework

Preferred Qualifications

* Strong analytical problem-solving skills and critical thinking
* Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong verbal and written communication
* Ability to plan and organize multiple tasks
* Solid work ethic and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
* Ability to work both independently and on team assignments
* Initiative, creativity, and excellent customer service skills
* High energy and willingness to learn new things to advance the work of the team and objectives of the organization
* Strong technical aptitude, particularly in the development of Excel spreadsheets
* Aptitude to comprehend new information, identify issues and problems and research and recommend a resolution
* Ability to complete routine processing with attention to detail and accuracy
