You will function as a critical member of our hospital's team and work towards the goals of Shriners Hospital for Children.

We are currently hiring a part time Surgical Scrub Technician. The Surgical Scrub Technician will provide quality individualized patient care based on the application of scientific knowledge, surgical technologist education and interpersonal skills. Care is provided primarily during the intraoperative phase and includes preoperative and postoperative phases of the patient's surgical experience. Demonstrates respect for self and others. This is a part time position that will work about 30 hours a week. Schedules may fluctuate between Monday - Thursday, working three, 10 hour shifts. There is no weekend and holiday work.

The Surgical Scrub Technician will be responsible for the following:

Aseptic Technique

\- Demonstrates correct aseptic technique in creating and maintaining sterile field and demonstrates knowledge of principles of infection control in the Operating Room.

Surgical Preparation

\- Demonstrates ability to plan and direct workflow during surgical procedure. Anticipates sequence of intraoperative events to meet surgeon and patient needs.

First Scrub Role

\- Demonstrates the ability to perform the role of first scrub on all surgical procedures.

Flash Sterilizer

\- Demonstrates correct use and operation of required equipment

Patient Safety

\- Applies measures to ensure patient safety including performing sponge and sharps counts per policy, following surgical site marking and tourniquet use policies, proper use of the electrosugical unit, power tools, and light sources.

Requirements:

* Associate of Surgical Technology required
* One year of Operating Room Scrub required
* Certification and Licenses for Surgical Technologist worked preferred
