Job Details

Are you intrigued by the power of ML and AI to uncover the hidden signals in the noise of big data? Do you lay awake at night pondering the power and responsibility of delivering these technologies to the masses? Are you excited about helping people see and understand their data faster, more clearly, and with more confidence?

Were looking for a designer who can help bring the power of new technologies to analytic experiences, making them easy to use and understand for people who dont have a stats or data science degree. Youll partner with engineers and PMs building the next generation of analytics tools that can be used by anyone who has data, from non-profits to research firms to startups to fortune-500 companies.

You will be most successful if you have an interest in data and a background in software where you had to make something inherently complicated as simple as possible without oversimplifying it. And you should be comfortable translating deep technical conversations through a lens of user needs, empathy, and ethical considerations. If this sounds like you, wed love to meet!

Some of the things you'll be doing include

* Be the go to designer on projects from start to finish.

* Create user journeys, wireframes, detailed UI flows, and pixel perfect screens.

* Create prototypes that show full experiences and micro interactions, and creatively incorporate simple ML or AI tools to make the prototypes sing.

* Work closely with user research, product management, and engineering.

* Build consensus and balance different priorities while dealing with ambiguity.

* Develop a deep understanding of our users.

* Develop a point of view on where the area you are working on should go and how that relates to the rest of the portfolio.

* Effectively communicate your ideas to a range of stakeholders and audiences through presentation and storytelling.

Who you are

* A good listener who can build consensus among a diverse group of stakeholders. You know when to ask questions, which questions to ask, and how to listen with intent to learn.

* Have a background in HCI, Design, or a related field. You know the theory behind interaction design.

* Have experience using design and prototyping tools to translate ideas into working products (e.g., Sketch, Figma, Framer, Adobe XD, InVision).

* Have a strong UX design portfolio of work that demonstrates at least 2 years of work shipping ML/AI-backed software products and experience with using ML to ethically augment human decision making.

* Demonstrated the ability to work on complicated products and to simplify without oversimplifying.

* Are interested in how people get access to data, curate data, understand data, and communicate through data.

* Understand how what you work on fits into a bigger business context.
