Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Data Engineer is a hands-on technical role focused on full stack software development within the Enterprise Data organization. The role will be responsible for MarkLogic-based data management, search and analytics solutions.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Designs and develops code and data pipelines to ingest relational databases, file shares, and web services.
* Designs JavaScript modules and REST APIs utilizing MarkLogic to support complex searches.
* Develops MarkLogic integrations with existing enterprise platforms.
* Participates in requirements definition, system architecture design, and data architecture design.
* Participates in all aspects of the software life cycle using Agile development methodologies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* 5+ years of experience in Enterprise Information Solution Architecture, Design, and development required.
* 3+ years of hands-on experience with a MarkLogic framework preferred.
* 5+ years of experience with integration architectures such as SOA, Microservices, ETL or other integration technologies.
* 3+ years of Web development experience with Angular, JavaScript, and Node.js.
* 3+ years of experience with AWS cloud technologies and Lambda, S3, Cloud Watch, EC2 services.
* 5+ years of experience with working content or knowledge management systems, search engines, relational databases, NoSQL databases, ETL tools, geospatial systems, or semantic technology.
* Experience integrating Business Intelligence applications like Qlik Sense, Tableau, or PowerBI.
* Experience with analytics tools like SAS, R, Python, and other advanced statistical software.
* Experience with Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.
* Ability to multi-task effectively.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of an Agile Team.
MINIMUM QUALITIFICATIONS:
* Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics or closely related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) required.
* 3 years of experience in Data Ingestion, Data Extraction, and Data Integration required.
* Extensive knowledge and experience with JavaScript and Java required.
* Experience with JSON or XML data modeling required.
* Experience with Git/GitHub, branching, and other modern source code management methodologies required.
* Knowledge of multiple programming environments, debugging tools, and test tools required.
* Domain knowledge of NoSQL or relational database required.
* Experience developing enterprise grade production software required.
* Understanding of database architecture and performance implications required.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, sense of ownership, urgency and drive.

The company’s collection services include curbside collection of waste for transport to transfer stations, landfills, or recycling processing centers; supply of waste containers; and renting of compactors.
It is also involved in the processing and sale of old corrugated containers, old newsprint, aluminum, glass, and other materials; temporary waste and recycling collection services; and provision of landfill services. As of December 31, 2018, the company operated through 349 collection operations, 207 transfer stations, 190 active landfills, 91 recycling processing centers, and 11 salt water disposal wells, as well as 7 treatment, recovery, and disposal facilities in 41 states and Puerto Rico.It also operated 75 landfill gas-to-energy and renewable energy projects and had 129 closed landfills. The company was founded in 1996 and is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona.
