Job Description

Raytheon Intelligence & Space is seeking an Embedded Systems Cybersecurity Engineer to join the Multi Mission Secure Systems Department. The ideal candidate is an Engineer who can apply their defense industry technical, Cybersecurity, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) knowledge and experience to systems security engineering within the areas of cybersecurity, anti-tamper, software assurance, supply chain exploitation and threat/design vulnerability analysis. This is NOT a role for Enterprise/Networking/Operations IT practitioners.

The SSE will:

* Participate in the development of embedded security solutions
* Be responsible for executing the efforts for secure system products.
* Develop Cybersecurity RMF artifacts, security specifications, security architecture, interface descriptions, and vulnerability assessments.
* Be responsible for developing advanced systems security guidelines and concepts


The SSE must be able to:

* Work autonomously and as a member of a team in coordination with engineers in development, integration, test and modeling
* Exhibit a high degree of creativity and ingenuity, and will be responsible for developing advanced systems security guidelines and concepts
* Effectively communicate with internal and external customers, and will be required to participate in company and customer teams.




Required Skills:
Four (4) years technical experience in Systems Engineering architecture, requirements, development, or implementation of Hardware, Firmware, and/or Software Engineering for embedded solutions (Not Enterprise/Networking/Operations IT Security Solutions)
Experience designing, implementing, testing, or fielding secure systems solutions on embedded products for Department of Defense (DoD) programs.
Working knowledge of secure systems technologies, methodologies, risk analysis, policies and guidelines
Experience with Cybersecurity Risk Management Framework (RMF) Steps 1, 2, 3, and 4 including development of associated documentation
Experience with secure systems controls analysis, tailoring, decomposition, allocation, implementation, and testing
ACTIVE Secret Security Clearance
U.S. Citizen, as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems

Preferred Skills:
DoD 8570.01-M IAT or IASAE Level II or III certification
Experience with commercial-off-the-shelf security technologies and trusted products
Familiarity with Software Assurance methodologies
Ability to interact with customers to define: requirements, solutions, trades, costs, implementation, system impacts and effectiveness
Familiarity with Agile methodology or Model Based Systems Engineering
Experience in System Integrity or Software Assurance
Familiarity with Intel Community Agency or NIST FIPS-140 2 approved cryptographic solutions
Experience interacting with customer representatives and external suppliers
Experience with certification and accreditation of cryptographic, anti-tamper, and other security-related engineering products/systems
Experience with multi-level secure systems solutions
Experience with DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF)
Background in Software Engineering practices
Knowledge of security standards, methods, and policies; risk and threat analysis; technical security safeguards; and operational security measures.
Familiarity with Program Protection Plan (PPP) required by DoDI 5000.02 and DoDI 5200.39

Bachelor of Science Degree in STEM
Advanced degree(s) preferred
