Job Description

The Raw Material Planning Manager is responsible for the team that purchases raw materials, management of raw material inventories, and vendor relationship management! The manager will assure high levels of service to the production team by ensuring timely delivery and accurate entry of purchase orders. They will also work to standardize processes across PPG locations and have the opportunity to lead multiple projects with strong leadership and decision-making skills. In addition, they will handle strategic supplier relationships, including purchase order entry and management for a subset of suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

* Strong communication with the production teams, supply planning teams, customer service, and warehousing teams is required.
* Purchase Order Management
* Ensure orders are placed in a timely manner
* Work with vendors to ensure low-cost service
* Work with vendors to ensure high timely, in full delivery
* Run deliveries as required
* Inventory Management
* Monitor expired, obsolete, and aging materials to ensure minimization of waste
* SiOP objectives execution
* Warehouse communication
* Supervise receipts and assist in resolving issues
* Handle returns of damaged materials
* Team Development
* Team management and goal setting
* Talent development for direct reports
* Continuous Improvement
* Generate project ideas, lead/participate on project teams
* Complete DMAIC and PDCA projects

Key Metrics:

* Vendor OTIF
* Customer OTIF
* Savings Generated
* Batches Skipped
* Working Capital Levels (DIO)

Qualifications:

* B.S. in Supply Chain or related Field
* Minimum of 5 years supply chain experience
* Minimum of 2 years management experience
* APICS certification preferred
* Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification is a plus
* MRP Planning Experience required, Oracle R12 is a plus
* Ability to handle multitasking and ambiguity
