Job Description Position summary: Responsible for negotiating the purchase of quality produce products at competitive prices and maintaining adequate inventories to meet customer demands. Functions as a team member within the department and cross-functions, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.
Major Functional Duties and Responsibilities:
* Analyze best cost of goods from all vendors. Accurately set up all items on AS400 to include: description, pack and expiration dates, COGS, etc. Maintains slots to be clear of any refuse. Works with Regional Procurement Coordinator on bulk purchases.
* Works with sales team on communicating all market conditions. Develops and markets weekly/monthly specials for sales team. Presents Produce Highlights at sales meetings.
* Maintains shrink to an acceptable level set by supervisor.
* Ensures each item has marketing allowances applied and has correct margin applied, as instructed.
* Handles Recalls in an expeditious and precise manner in accordance with Corporate compliance.
* Inspects product for correct, receiving product expectation, quality control, rotation.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
1 - 3 years experience required in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing (produce products) or related area within foodservice industry.
Able to stand, walk, reach and lift repeatedly throughout shift.
This position requires the following actions (physical activity) with more than 20 pounds on more than an occasional basis: lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying.
Able to work in multi-temperature environments. Preferred Qualifications Bachelors degree is Sales, Marketing or related area.
3 - 5 years experience preferred in Business, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing (produce products) or related area within foodservice industry.
