The Cameras & Sensors (C&S) team gathers world class expertise and talent in photographic and machine vision cameras, imaging sensors, and depth, inertial, and bio sensing systems, and owns the development and validation for all these sensing systems across the whole AR, VR & Portal product portfolios. We are looking for an Image Sensors Manager that will lead a team of professionals covering the complete CMOS image sensor lifecycle in human perception and machine perception imaging. This individual will lead the requirements definition, selection and integration of leading edge image sensors into our product camera modules. Their work scope will span OTS image sensors, semi-custom sensors, fully custom sensors, and advanced sensor technologies.

Image Sensors Manager (FRL) Responsibilities

* Lead image sensor roadmap development across all FRL hardware product lines (VR, AR, Portal)

* Create and benchmark off-the-shelf (OTS) sensor KPIs of RGB, Mono & IR CMOS sensors

* Drive OTS sensor selection, characterization, validation & integration

* Influence image sensor partners sensor roadmap definition and development to meet Facebook product needs

* Establish the need for custom image sensors and support their development, test and validation

* Manage sensor productization of multiple image sensors

* Lead the exploration into new image sensors including on-chip compute, neural networks and high speed interconnects

Minimum Qualifications

* BS in Optics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline

* 7+ years of image sensors experience, plus 2+ years of people management experience

* Experience with CMOS image sensors lifecycle for high volume production

* Proven knowledge of image sensor market trends

* First-hand knowledge of image sensor advanced technology process nodes and techniques

* Experience managing suppliers and supplier contracts, budgets, and headcount, and acquiring equipment and licenses

* Experience working with external manufacturing, testing and contracting partners

* Proven people management skills, with experience hiring and growing a team of talented leaders and individuals

* Proven communication and analytical skills, including experience identifying and solving ambiguous problems

Preferred Qualifications

* MS in Optics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline

* Experience in high volume consumer electronics
