Become a Senior Manager of Corporate Payroll Operations at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you will serve as the subject matter expert for all things related to payroll. You will provide effective leadership, mentoring and guidance to team members to accomplish functional responsibilities. Formulate vision and implement strategies that support overall goals for the company/department. In addition, you will identify opportunities for improvements within the payroll processes and partner with various departments to deliver thereon. You will also ensure that payroll is processed in compliance with ever-changing labor laws, policies and procedures.

* Provide mentor and guidance to team members to accomplish functional responsibilities. Provide organizational influence on opportunties for improvements and is functionally focused on daily payroll activties and policies with strategic planning. Assure goals and objectives from senior level management are carried out.
* Develop strategic, broad, core business concepts and plans for the payroll system focusing on labor laws, policies, past practices and payroll tax reporting and remittance requirements.
* Influence key strategic decisions with SCE's senior management in Labor Relations, Compensation, Legal, Human Resources, IT and Finance.
* Manage specialized functions of payroll that deals with high volumes of transactions.
* Prepare long-term strategic plans as it relates to overall payroll/labor costs, studies and other documents that will contribute to the direction and development of departmental business plans and corporate objectives.
* Develop and implement organizational change plan (entire SCE) as it relates to the payroll system.
* Provide and makes decisions on key payroll activities which have an impact on timekeeping and other departments of the company.
* Manage the design of analytical models and methodologies for understanding data and measuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications
The essentials

* Bachelors Degree or higher in accounting, business, or related discipline.
* Five or more years of experience managing or supervising an organization or unit.

The preferred

* CPP (Certified Payroll Professional).
* Five or more years of experience in payroll activities.
* Three years of experienced in SAP Payroll process/system development, configuration & implementation.
* Excellent interpersonal skill.
* Excellent communication skill.
