GDIT is currently seeking a Database Developer to provide technical support for a new program that provides agency-wide Enterprise IT support. The Database Developer will serve in a vital program role, responsible for the evolution of data, including designing and evolving the schema, streamlining data operations and maintaining the database to ensure peak performance
Design logical and physical data models
Ensure database optimization, integrity, consistency, security and privacy
Providing support, guidance and collaborating with Application Developers to implement database design
Create scripts to build new database objects
Develop stored procedure, functions, packages, triggers, and views
Assist with schema design, code review, and query tuning
Continually evaluate software components and tools for applications, making recommendations for system improvements
Upgrade and improve data and application schema, preparing design documents and functional specifications
Work in conjunction with the engineering teams to resolve issues, evaluate software modules, and develop appropriate specifications
Support the efforts to deploy SecDevOps, Infrastructure as Code and automation efforts across the service area
Required Skills:
o Bachelor's Degree in a related business or technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience
o Proven working experience as a Database Developer for Top Secret mission critical systems and networks
o SQL server administration experience
o Database tuning experience
o Ability to work with a team in an Agile environment
o Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
o Knowledge and know-how to troubleshoot potential issues, and experience with best practices around database operations
o Detailed knowledge of relevant government regulations and standards
o Possess an active TS/SCI security clearance, with Full-Scope Polygraph
