Job Description

GDIT is currently seeking a Cyber Security Systems Engineer to provide technical support for a new program that provides agency-wide Enterprise IT support. The Cyber Security Systems Engineer will serve as part of a talented team of engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency, responsible for performing or reviewing technical security assessment of computing environments to identify points of vulnerability and non-compliance with established standards and regulations.

Design and develop new systems, applications, and solutions for enterprise-wide cyber systems and networks
Assist architects and system developers in the identification and implementation of appropriate information security functionality to ensure uniform application security policy and enterprise solutions
Enforce the design and implementation of trusted relations among external systems and architectures
Assess and mitigate system security threats/risks throughout the program life cycle
Contribute to the security planning, assessment, risk analysis, risk management, certification and awareness activities for system and networking operations
Ensure system security needs are established and maintained for operations development, security requirements definition, security risk assessment, systems analysis, systems design, security test and evaluation, certification and accreditation, systems hardening, vulnerability, testing and scanning, and incident response; provides analytical support for security policy development and analysis
Support the building of security architectures, to include the analysis of cyber security features and providing engineering recommendations
Support the efforts to deploy SecDevOps, Infrastructure as Code and automation efforts across the service area

Required Skills:
o Bachelor's Degree in a related business or technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience
o Proven working experience as a Cyber Security Systems Engineer, working with incident detection and incident response
o Experience with Firewalls functionality and maintenance
o Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
o Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills
o Critical thinking skills and the ability to solve problems as they arise
o Great awareness of cybersecurity trends and hacking techniques
o Detailed knowledge of relevant government regulations and standards
o Possess an active TS/SCI security clearance, with Full-Scope Polygraph
