Project Manager/Cable Plant Engineer

Job Description

Design, engineer, i nstall and maintain inside and outside cable plant services and infrastructure throughout the SCITES enterprise. Cable plant services include, but are not limited to, fiber and copper cabling, low voltage cabling, direct burial cabling, aerial cabling, conduit, inner ducting, main distribution frame, intermediate distribution frame, patch facility, data center, facility, and end-user services.
* Conduct Onsite surveys, develop reports denoting survey results and recommendations as required.

* Follow commercial best practice procedures, standards. Provide Engineering Installation Plans (EIPs) required for installation of cable racks, wiring of the racks and testing required during installation.

* Develop maintenance plan for corrections and ensure the EIA/TIA 568A & 568B Standard are upheld.

Required Qualifications:
* Active Secret Clearance

* Project Management (PMP) certification strongly desired.

* Well versed in BICSI rules, regulations, and standards.

* Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, EIA, TIA, industry standards and other applicable codes related to the design and layout of IT, low voltage and telecommunications systems.

* Strong knowledge of Structured Cabling Systems from an installation and basic design perspective.

* Candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively to personnel of various expertise levels.

* Solid Customer Support Skills in a high visibility environment.

* Problem analysis and problem solving

* Attention to detail and accuracy

Education Required:
* Bachelors Degree. Related work experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

Certifications:
* REQUIRED - Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification?

* DESIRED - Project Management (PMP) certification
