Duties:
* Research customer data protection standards and recommend updates as needed.
* Provide Operations and Maintenance support for customer's commercial encryption products and services.
* Support end users with installation and application issues for supported products to include occasional local travel.
* Document and perform system updates and configuration changes for customer's commercial encryption systems.
* Conduct Technical Exchange Meetings with project teams and Information System Security Managers to recommend encryption applications to satisfy security policies and program requirements.
* Provide assessments of current or planned implementations of encryption products and services to determine proper application and configuration to provide the intended levels of protection.
* Perform market research and product evaluations to develop recommendations for commercial encryption products.
* Support the integration of commercial encryption products into the existing IT structure.
* Keep up with technological developments and support any new commercial encryption needs.
* Support the implementation of new technologies and enhancement of enterprise capabilities to support risk governance.
* Work with other customer organizations to understand workflow and data collection/reporting requirements in order to provide the government with risk governance capabilities.
* Provide continuity of operations (COOP) support for the customer's enterprise data protection products.
Required:
* Experience with system administration and networking, including Linux, UNIX, and Windows administration
* In-depth understanding of the encryption key management life cycle, (e.g., generation, escrow, archive, transport, etc.).
* In-depth understanding of key creation, distribution, management, and escrow and recovery.
* Experience operating and maintaining enterprise level encryption solutions in a production environment.
* Familiarity with various data formats (e.g., xml, rtf, etc.), data fields, and applications interfaces to effectively collaborate with other project teams, and keep up with new technological developments to support ongoing cryptographic needs.
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of FIPS 140-1 and FIPS 140-2.
* Demonstrated experience advising functional and administration teams on design, development, and overall best security practices for encryption products.
* Knowledge and ability to research, assess, and make recommendations regarding commercial encryption technologies, as well as how to integrate, implement, test, deploy and support within the Sponsor's environment.
* Knowledge with and practical experience administering commercial encryption products.
* Demonstrated experience developing documentation to meet security requirements and guidance.
* In-depth understanding of commercial encryption, hash and digital signature algorithms to include the following families: AES, DES, RSA, EC, SHA, MD, etc.
* Ability to support rotating pager duty
Desired:
* Demonstrated experience managing relevant operating system security (Windows, Solaris, Linux, etc.).
* Knowledge of and practical experience with the Sponsor's Enterprise Encryption solutions.
* Understanding of Commercial Solutions for Sponsor standards.
* Demonstrated experience with structured and unstructured databases.
* Extensive knowledge of theories, principles, and practices in one or more of the technical or engineering fields: computer engineering, electrical engineering, information technology, mathematics, or computer science.
* Demonstrated experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) architecture and other cloud computing environments.
* Cyber security/Encryption related education and certification(s), such as:
CISSP - Certified Information Systems Security Professional
CEH - Certified Ethical Hacker
MCSE - Microsoft Certified System Engineer
VCP VMware Certified Professional
or similar
* Demonstrated experience with the Sponsor's policies, directives, and standards.
