This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Northwest Medical Center SAHUARITA lab team in a beautiful, new micro hospital environment. This is a generalist day shift position (12 hour shifts) and the successful applicant should be able to work alone, independently without on-site supervision. This position reports to the lab supervisor. Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in the clinical laboratory is expected. Come be part of our quality patient care team.

Job Summary: Performs moderate and high complexity tests in the clinical laboratory including blood bank, chemistry, hematology and coagulation. Ensures that specimens are appropriate for test methodologies. Documents all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance performed. Assist customers with information regarding laboratory testing in a pleasant and professional manner. Consistently monitors specimens to ensure that each specimen is appropriate for the test methodology utilized. Ensures that all tests are performed within turn around time limits with review of pending logs and stat boards to maintain compliance. Documents all corrective action taken when systems deviate from laboratory established performance criteria. Consistently uses critical thinking and problem solving skills to identify and correct issues that may adversely affect test performance or patient results. Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in the laboratory medicine is expected.
