Insurance verification and authorization, payment receipt, posting and adjustment processing. Hospital business office experience required.
Verifies insurance coverage using online tools and telephone contact with third parties, assists patients and families with insurance questions. Verifies and obtains prior authorizations, scans items, requests price checks, collects payment and gives change as appropriate. Responsible for daily deposit, adjustments to SSC and other audit and compliance activities. Primary job functions require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a Director. High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of experience in hospital business office or insurance billing required. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the hospital business office.
