Summary:

The SIU Investigator II is responsible for investigating complex insurance fraud activity involving multi-line claims, build and maintain meaningful industry social network and assist SIU leadership in promoting fraud awareness and detection with internal business partners, agents and customers.


Job Description:

Primary Accountabilities

The role of a SIU Property Investigator II is to perform moderate to complex claim investigations involving personal and commercial lines property claims.

The SIU Property Investigator II is responsible for consistently performing quality claim investigations at the earliest possible time and lowest possible cost in accordance with SIU standards and best practices. In addition, the SIU Property Investigator II is responsible for:

* Evaluates investigation assignments to ensure SIU intervention is warranted.

* Identifies evidentiary leads and utilizes effective and efficient investigative techniques to pursue and acquire relevant evidence that accurately resolves all fraud concerns.

* Acting as a subject matter expert pertaining to insurance fraud activity involving P&C property claims.

* Developing and maintaining relations with public agencies and other sources concerning insurance fraud issues and investigations.

* Acting as a liaison between the company, law enforcement, police and fire officials, and other public agencies.

* Developing and maintaining meaningful relationships with internal and external business partners that contribute to SIUs fraud control program.

* Developing and delivering insurance fraud awareness training to internal and external business partners.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills Requirements

* Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service
* Demonstrated ability to effectively investigate complex insurance fraud activities involving multi-line P&C auto and property claims.
* Demonstrated organizational skills to effectively manage assignments and workload.
* Demonstrated communication skills to clearly, concisely and accurately articulate intended message.
* Basic presentation skills developing and delivering effective and relevant insurance fraud awareness training to internal and external business partners.
* Valid driver's license required plus an acceptable driving record.

Travel Requirements

* This position requires travel up to 75% of the time.



Additional Job Information:

Preferred Skill Sets

* 5+ years field adjusting experience handling moderate to complex P&C property claims.

* Basic knowledge of 1st party and contractor property claims fraud schemes and indicators.

* Basic experience using MS programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

* Solid experience performing internet and informational databases research to include extraction and analysis.

* Basic understanding of evidence to include types and The Rules of Evidence.

* Solid interviewing and communication skills, both verbal and written.

* Extensive ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment.

* P&C insurance designations preferred.

* Extensive analytical skills and problem-solving skills; logical and sequential thinker.

* Candidates from greater Denver metro area are encouraged to apply.

* Preferred candidates residing within 2 hours of driving radius of greater Denver metro area.

Travel Requirements

* Must be willing to travel overnight outside of territory if necessary.
* This position requires travel up to 50% of the time.
