The Amazon DynamoDB team is looking for deeply technical, team-first-mentality full stack software engineers who are willing to commit themselves to our goal to grow the business by 10 times over the next 2 years.

DynamoDB engineers are constantly challenged to think of unique and innovative solutions. The quality bar is high. As an engineer here, you will work on the hardest engineering problems in distributed systems at a massive scale and on multiple dimensions. You will exercise your intellectual curiosity, work with motivated teams of sharp individuals, and get insightful guidance from senior and principal engineers.
We are looking for deeply technical team-first Senior/Principal Engineer to push DynamoDB even further. DynamoDB Engineers are constantly challenged to think of unique and innovative solutions. As an engineer here, you will work on the hardest engineering problems in distributed systems at massive scale on multiple products. You will be responsible to provide technical guidance for multiple products. You will be responsible to maintain a high bar in terms of execution, operational readiness, code and design quality. You will serve as a mentor for junior engineers and help them grow. You are comfortable working with Senior and Principal Engineers and hold your ground during design and customer experience reviews.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
4+ years of professional software development experience
3+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C including object-oriented design
2+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
A Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree based on three or more years of work experience for every one year of education
An understanding of computer science fundamentals in algorithms and data structures
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
A Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
5+ years of professional software development experience
Experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems or web services
Experience with relational and non-relational database systems
Experience delivering projects as part of an agile software development team
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
