Job Objective:
Manages all aspects of the corporate planning process: responsible for internal and external forecasts, partner relations and reporting and corporate finance activities. Trains and mentors staff for growth in these areas.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Oversees all aspects of corporate finance, including strategy and investor relation functions.
Facilitates interactions between outside parties and Hilcorp related to financial information and presentations to banks and equity partners.
Oversees and manages the development and administration of annual corporate budget.
Oversees the corporate rolling forecast.
Coordinates with the VP of Finance on the monthly cash forecast and execution of financing activities.
Oversees and manages the continued development of budgeting and forecasting modeling tools.
Oversees the development of financial models and analysis to support strategic initiatives.
Manages the creation of long range strategic planning tools.
Manages long range forecasting and performance tracking.
Analyzes complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes.
Oversees the preparation of presentations for Board of Directors and other external presentations as needed by the executive team.
Monitors investment research on the company and our peer companies.
Maintains peer data for comparison analysis.
Oversees the creation of pro forma models for new business opportunities.
Manages special projects for various groups through out the company including executive, technical employees, and accountants.
Mentors and develops finance team.
Other Job Responsibilities:
Assists VP of Finance with financing decisions and provides coverage when CFO/VP is absent.
Maintains employee confidence and corporate assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential.
Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional associations.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications:
Ten (10) years minimum oil and gas accounting, finance, or financial reporting experience.
Strong leadership and technical skills and experience leading high preforming teams.
Ability to accurately solve problems and exceptional proficiency in data management.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with executive management, external partners, employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities without close supervision.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to translate complex financial information into an organized and presentable manner.
Outstanding management, administrative, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in the use and application of the following software:
Required: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Educational Requirements:
Required: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year university or college with a degree in finance or accounting.
Preferred: Masters of Business Administration (MBA)
