This position will have a strong focus on Mutual Fund regulatory compliance and Industry initiatives. An associate in this position must be able to apply their knowledge of Mutual Fund Operational policies and processes, the financial industry and the firm%27s operations to address regulatory events/industry initiatives and confirm departmental compliance.
Responsibilities:
Gain a thorough understanding of new and existing Mutual Fund regulations and assess the impact as it relates to trading and processing, utilizing internal and external resources as appropriate.
o Analyze new and existing regulations, make recommendations to leadership team to ensure gaps are covered and risk minimized and lead the initiatives to address gaps.
o Identify, create and assess analytics to determine risk and identify impact.
o Prepare and deliver written and oral presentations on regulatory/industry items to departmental leadership.
o Consult with users to identify, analyze, refine, document and approve both business requirements and testing methodology around regulatory/industry changes.
o Create documents that correspond to procedures that would be impacted by the specific regulations/industry initiative.
Documentation should be intended to provide associates with a reference guide to answer questions as well document procedural changes for audit purposes.
o Review regulatory changes as they related to departmental policies and procedures. Draft updates for internal, advisor and client communications.
o Participate in training (as it relates to regulatory content).
Serve as a liaison/representative between firm, fund and regulatory agencies as well as industry experts in regards to regulations.
Represent Raymond James and be an active member in various industry groups and sub-groups, as directed by leadership. Attend webinars and conferences as required.
Review and assess impact of all incoming Mutual Fund related regulatory announcements. Share findings with leadership team in an agreed upon format, on a regular and established basis.
Participation in regulatory departmental deep dives to assist in identifying risk and non-compliance.
Representation/participation on various enterprise projects to guarantee Mutual Fund requirements are met.
Qualifications
Bachelor%27s degree or license in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
8 years experience in financial services
5 years of Mutual Funds experience with a strong understanding of Mutual Funds, products, policies and procedures
Previous experience reviewing and researching regulations.
Strong analytic, problem solving and business judgment and organization skills.
Licenses:
Series 7 within 6 months of being hired.
