Manages the daily operations of the assigned department or function to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives.
Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management.
Performs and oversees scheduling, staff development, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.
Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations.
Determines and justifies needs for systems/equipment/supplies purchases, monitors usage, and oversees proper working order and/or stock supplies.
Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
Ensures department stays focused on their important role in the continuum of care.
Injury prevention to include: reviewing injury data to identify most common injuries, collaborate with other organizations to present injury prevention programs to the community, organize and host appropriate injury prevention programs, and maintain an injury prevention record for programs held.
Job Requirements
Minimum Education
* Associates degree in Nursing required
* Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
Required Skills
* Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Licenses
* Registered Nurse (RN) in State of Michigan required
Certifications
* Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) required
* Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) required
* Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required (within 90 days of hire)
* Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) required (within 90 days of hire)
* Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) or Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) required (within 1 year of hire)
Minimum Work Experience
* 2 years in trauma/emergency care experience required
* 2 years performance improvement experience preferred
