We have the unique and significantrole to partner with NASA at Johnson Space Center (JSC), to be part of everyhuman spaceflight program the International Space Station (ISS), NASAs Orionspacecraft, which will carry astronauts into deep space, and Gateway, theorbiting platform providing the home for astronauts to work and travel back andforth to the moons surface, and serving as the platform for deep spaceexploration. From critical systems onthe ISS to enable astronauts to live and work in space; to performing advanceddevelopment for systems leading to deep space exploration; to being part of thefoundation for Gateway.

We also partner with NASA at JSC,the only NASA center in the United States to curate all astromaterial samplesreturned from exploration missions, to perform curation services, orbitaldebris analysis, and basic research to further humankinds understanding of theorigins of our solar system.

We are currently in need of a Machinist Designer Drafter to join ourteam. Do you have the following skills?

The selected candidate will:

* Support NASA Johnson Space Centers (JSC) activities on the International Space Station and space exploration.
* Provide expertise and experience in Computer Aided Design Drafting and manufacturing engineering.
* Promote and practice safety in the manufacturing environment maintaining awareness of and implementing all applicable safety procedures.
* Maintain a neat, orderly, and safe work area.
* Provide expertise and experience in manufacturing engineering using 3D printing, CNC machines and other manual equipment.
* Know how to Interpret Geometric Dimensions and Tolerances (GD&T)
* Perform assignments involving the processing of 3D printing of non-metallic parts.
* Perform the assembly of 3D printed parts.
* Estimate processing times for a variety of parts and assemblies for planning and scheduling purposes.
* Perform assembly of electrical printed circuit bords and other electrical components.
* Produce CAD engineering models and drawings using PTC CREO version 5, conforming to NASA/JSC JPR 8500.4 drawing requirements and the ASME drawing standards.
* Provide support for Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Best Practices and facility process capabilities.
* Coordinate with customers regarding requests requirements and inputs.
* Coordinate manufacturing activities with Design Engineers and Project Managers.
* Monitor progress of Engineering Service Requests.
* Communicate with Design and Project Engineers on manufacturing and drawing redlined updates and corrections.
* Prepare and present design documentation using MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Support meetings and create reports.
* Perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
RequiredEducation/Experience/Skills:

This position hasbeen posted at multiple levels. Depending on the candidates experience,requirements and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates atany level for which this position has been advertised.

* AS degree in CAD Manufacturing Design Engineering Technology or similar field from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of related manufacturing and CAD engineering experience, or a BS degree from an accredited engineering school and four (2) years of related engineering experience.
* Experience in a manufacturing environment with emphasis in CAD, CNC, lathes, mills, and sheet metal fabrication.
* Experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Ability to interpret Geometric Dimensions and Tolerances (GD&T)
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Experience with PTC CREO version 5 and the ASME Y14 drawing standards.
* Experience with PTC Windchill CAD file management system.
* Strong computer skills with MS Office Software Products such as Word, Excel, Office, Outlook, PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
* Ability to make independent, technical, and tactical decisions with a high attention to details.
* Ability to multitask and function safely in a high pace environment.
* Ability to work independently.

Requisition Preferences:

* 3-8 years experience in a manufacturing environment with emphasis in 3D printing, CNC, lathes, and mills.
* Experience in operating standard hand tools, power tools, shop equipment, and measuring instruments, including, but not limited to:
* CNC Mills
* CNC Router
* Drill Press
* Lathe
* Saws
* Sanders and grinders
* Micrometers and Calipers
* Experience in operating 3D printers (Markforged Mark II, Stratasys Fortus 250 and Stratasys 450 a definite plus).
* A working knowledge of PTC CREO version 5 and the ASME drawing standards.
* Familiar with PTC Windchill CAD file management system.
* Familiar with the NASA/JSC JPR-8500.4 drawing requirements.
* Familiar with the NASA/JSC Engineering Drawing Release System (EDRS).
* Familiar with the NASA/JSC hardware development and JETS Engineering Life Cycle processes.

Essential Functions

Work Environment
A machineshop/lab environment.

Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). Mayrequire lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs (5% of time).

Equipment and Machines
Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).

Attendance
Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical.Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peakperiods and surge requirements when required.
