The Facilities Engineer II will ensure that a variety of data center related construction projects are completed on time, within budget and to IBM Clouds standard specifications. This includes electrical and mechanical installations, raised floor electrical fit out, office space build outs and much more. This position requires travel and knowledge of data center critical infrastructure.

Key areas of responsibility:
* Manage the mechanical and electrical design for new data centers in order to fit the standard IBM Cloud deployment.

* Manage the data center electrical fit-out process down to and including the power source on the data center floor.

* Manage, track and report on project progress, cost and milestone completion as required while raising all concerns, issues and risks to appropriate leadership.

* Ensure electrical and mechanical loads are designed to be balanced with proper redundancy.

* Manage electrical installation commissioning process according to IBM Cloud standards while making note of any inconsistencies and/or anomalies.

* Play an active role in the bidding process and the recommendation of bid award.

* Assist in budget preparation, approval and tracking.

* Point of contact for all maintenance procedures affecting the operations of assigned data center region (Review, Execute, Complete, Report).

* Point of contact for all root cause analysis exercises as they relate to outages and/or maintenance concerns (Review, Escalate, and Distribute).

* Conduct annual site review/audit of all assigned data centers within specified region.

* Liaise with other IBM teams (Compliance, Security, Integrated Health & Safety, Environmental) to facilitate and ensure all required facility audits have been completed.

* Work with 3rd party organizations (FMGlobal, accrediting bodies) where required for onsite audits.

* Assist with data center capacity discussions and escalate critical issues when they arise.

* Prepare weekly reports for team meeting and monthly reports for Leader level meetings discussing any ongoing issues and concerns.

* Take an active role in personal development and seek out opportunities to expand your knowledge in your area of expertise.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
* At least 2 years experience in managing, tracking and reporting progress on multiple projects simultaneously.

* Experience with automation and Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCiM) solutions

* Readiness to travel 25% annually to both international and domestic locations.

* English: Fluent

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
* Bachelor's Degree

* At least 5 years experience in managing, tracking and reporting progress on multiple projects simultaneously

* At least 2 years experience in managing the mechanical and electrical design for new data centers

* At least 2 years experience in knowledge of data center critical infrastructure functionality
