Echo/Vascular Tech

The Woman's Hospital of Texas opened in 1976 and ever since has remained the state's premier facility dedicated solely to the health of women and newborn infants. Located near the Texas Medical Center, Womans offers 397 licensed beds, including a NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) and a full range of womens health services and newborn infants.

More than 650 board-certified physicians at Woman's offer their expertise and an outstanding level of quality care in the areas of gynecology, obstetrical care, high-risk pregnancy and minimally invasive surgery.

What you will do in this role:

* Under the general supervision of the Coordinator of the Cardiovascular Laboratory, the Echo Technologist provides general echocardiographic services to patients as assigned in accordance with established Departmental and Hospital standards of care.
* Performs adult echocardiography studies with acceptable technical quality.
* Performs EKG studies with acceptable technical quality
* Performs Stress Treadmill studies with acceptable technical quality
* Performs Holter Monitor studies with acceptable technical quality
* Works with Radiology Director and departmental Coordinator to ensure facility compliance with regulatory.
* Maintains all maintenance journals for ultrasound and cardiology related equipment.
* Educates patients on cardiology related procedures.
* Must have pediatrics experience
* Must Take call

Qualifications

What qualifications you will need for this role:

* REQUIRED: Graduate of an accredited School of Sonography or equitable on the job training.

Licensure/Certification

REQUIRED: ARDMS registered or Registry Eligible, or CCI registration for vascular and echocardiography specialties.

Experience required or preferred:

REQUIRED: pediatric experience, EKG, Stress Treadmill, Holter Monitor
