As a Phlebotomist, you will support the lab team in a variety of functions including routine blood draws and minor technical functions. You will provide clinical support as well as administrative support to all areas of the lab.

* You will obtain blood specimens.

* Label and initial test tubes immediately after procedure.

* You will dispose of all used needles in designated sharps containers.

* Demonstrate the ability to work independently without supervision and assist in training new phlebotomists.

LewisGale Hospital Pulaski (LGHP) is located in the beautiful mountainous region of Virginia. Pulaski is considered a neighbor to the Virginia Tech Hokie community and is a short 45 minute drive from Roanoke, VA. The HCA hospital is a 147-bed acute care facility with more than 350 employees and has been recognized by Joint Commission as a Top Performer. The medical staff includes a wide range of primary care and specialty care physicians, including Cardiology, Otolaryngology, Orthopedics, General Surgery, Urology and Oncology as well as Hospitalists.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

* High School Diploma or equivalent

* Phlebotomy training

* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

* ASCP/ASPT Phlebotomy certification preferred

* Previous phlebotomy experience preferred

HOURS

* Full Time / 36 hours per week

* Mixed Shifts to include weekend and holiday requirements
