GDIT is seeking a senior level Information Systems SME to serve as a subject matter expert for IT infrastructure across the CMS portfolio and the broader Health Sector. In this role, you will oversee activities for a team of employees engaged in providing data center, infrastructure support, information system solutions and technical support to some of our key customers in the Federal Health Sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Act as key technical lead or subject matter expert on a variety of data center operations for the Federal Government
* Design and help implement data center solutions including networking, storage, and compute.
* Bring expertise to the team in a variety of cutting edge technologies to enhance infrastructure operations and efficiency
* Oversee and direct the infrastructure design and engineering teams bringing together various inputs into a cohesive design
* Manage the technical aspects of proposal development as it relates to infrastructure and data center requirements
* Represent the company in client presentations and negotiations related to infrastructure requirements and projects
* Oversee and negotiate business arrangements with various partners and vendor firms
* Direct and advise data center facility set-up, including leasing arrangements
* Direct project management to ensure solid implementation and integration of enterprise infrastructure
* Oversee data center infrastructure planning, implementation, integration, and decommissioning
* Review and approve infrastructure components and related modules for Bill of Materials
* Oversee and direct data center infrastructure refresh cycles
* Oversee and interface with key clients within HHS.
* Guide data center operations to insure compliance with all federal government audits, security requirements and ATO requirements
* Perform data center tours as needed
* Provide strategic input on proposals
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills and Experience
* BA/BS degree and over 15 years of IT Operations and Data Center experience in a federal government environment or with federal clients (or equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of degree)
* 5+ years related experience in a technical SME and leadership role for CMS's large IT infrastructure programs to include the HIGLAS program
* Knowledge of FISMA, HIPAA, FedRamp, and other related security requirements
* Experience working with health data, PHI/PII requirements
* Significant experience in data center design, engineering, and construction
* Extensive network management skills, including experience with ACI network fabric
* Experience managing a team of network engineers and other related data center skillsets
* Strong experience in driving technical teams to success
* Proven ability to negotiate with vendors deal structures
* Strong experience in product and program strategy including working with customers to deliver high value data center environments
* Demonstrated understanding of hardware utilization profiles and metrics, airflow, power densities and distributions
* Ability to travel domestically, as needed
Desired Skills and Experience
* Strongly prefer additional experience within Veterans Affairs, Health and Human Services, CDC, FDA, and/or NIH
The likely salary range for this position is $192,000 - $288,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
