What youll be able to do:
With responsibilities spanning the entire Manufacturing Engineering product line, you will apply artificial intelligence (AI) to the development and maintenance of our Global Study Process Allocation System (GSPAS) and Direct Labor Management System (DLMS) and related systems. This role involves direct exposure to such concepts as:
* Knowledge-based system development
* Natural language processing
* Deep learning
* Text analytics
* Relational databases
* Lisp and server-side programming
* Ontologies and the semantic web
* Google NLP voice-recognition for plant floor applications
You will also be a key contributor to our Labor Allocation & Optimization product team throughout design, development, and testing phases. As part of an elite team working on business-critical projects, you will plan and execute proof-of-concepts to evaluate solution availability while demonstrating business value. You will:
* Model and update knowledge into ontologies (knowledge bases)
* Develop improvements and maintain the AI/DLMS system
* Act as liaison between IT and Manufacturing Engineering teams
* Provide technical debugging and troubleshooting of software
* Collaborate across an agile, balanced team of developers/testers to deliver projects/features
* Gain experience in manufacturing engineering
* Collaborate with global colleagues from IT, Advanced Manufacturing Center, Industrial Engineering, Ergonomics, Vehicle Operations, Powertrain and Assembly Plant
* Innovate critical projects utilizing cutting-edge technologies
The minimum requirements we seek:
* Bachelors degree
* Three or more years of experience with artificial intelligence/machine learning tools/techniques
* Two or more years of object-oriented development/scripting experience with Python, Lua, or Go
Our preferred requirements:
* Masters degree or PhD in computer science or related field
* In-depth knowledge of AI and machine learning
* Database management background using SQL, Oracle, MySQL, etc.
* Previous experience with test driven development and Agile methodologies
* Passion for identifying and understanding emerging software related trends
* MVC or micro services development experience with Java Spring/PrimeFaces, etc. through the full software development life cycle process
* Experience with Java Persistence API/Hibernate and JDBC
* Expertise with Git, Github, or other version control software
* Experience interpreting/translating research insights, business strategy, and design of products and services
* Experience with operating systems, continuous integration tools (e.g., Jenkins), version control systems (e.g., GitHub), unit testing frameworks (e.g., gtest), and containers (e.g., Docker)
* Ability to prove out new concepts by developing projects from inception to delivery
* Ability to adapt to quickly changing requirements
* Experience with LispWorks/KnowledgeWorks, or AllegroGraph
* Experience with CA Agile Central (Rally), backlogs, iterations, user stories, or similar Agile tools
* Excellent communication skills
