Facebook is looking for an analytical thinker with experience in tech, advertising and policy to join our Privacy and Data Policy team. The team's mission is to develop privacy-protective and innovative approaches to data that help bring the world closer together and improve people's lives. In this role, you'll be focused on understanding and shaping conversations on the core of our business, advertising.
We believe data-driven ads and privacy are not at odds. Transparency, control and privacy enhancing technology are core parts of our advertising philosophy. In this role, you'll serve as a subject matter expert for Facebook's global policy team on Facebook's ads products and work with our teams to evaluate and respond to legislative and regulatory developments around privacy and ads.
The ideal candidate for this role is a self-starter, a good team player, and creative problem solver that is able to switch easily between detailed work and high-level strategic thinking. This candidate will be deeply familiar with the intersection of privacy and ads and have a meaningful understanding of stakeholders and perspectives in the advertising industry. Privacy Policy Manager, Data Ecosystems Responsibilities
* Independently manage projects with cross functional leaders, including research design and narrative development
* Serve as an effective representative for Facebook regarding privacy and ads issues, including in external meetings and conferences
* Analyze global legislative and regulatory proposals concerning the intersection of privacy, data security and ads
* Work with software developers, designers, lawyers, product managers, and others to help interdisciplinary teams simultaneously address policy, legal, engineering, user interface, business, marketing and other privacy requirements
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelors degree
* 6+ years of experience with privacy, data security, or technology policy issues (4+ years with advanced degree in relevant field)
* Experience planning and executing cross-functional initiatives
* Experience counseling clients around privacy, data security, or policy issues and managing multiple business priorities
* Experience prioritizing multiple simultaneous projects
Preferred Qualifications
* JD or equivalent, MPP, or technical degree
* Experience working directly with executives to support business decision making
* Understanding of mobile and Internet technologies and how data is processed to support them
* Working familiarity with privacy legislative frameworks
* Experience with policy analysis
