Architecting, constructing, operating and continually innovating the telecommunications and structured cabling infrastructure within our data centers is fundamental to ensuring high availability, the capacity to meet our extreme growth demands and obtaining the most robust and cost-effective online service in the world! Facebook is seeking a seasoned professional to join our Facilities Operations Integration Engineering Team as a Project Engineer. The candidate will be responsible for supporting our data center Facility Operations teams in the delivery of modernization programs and projects in a manner that promotes efficiency across the fleet. A successful Project Engineer will be organized, able to shift seamlessly between strategic counsel and smaller daily tasks and demonstrate excellent communication skills. This person should be a detail-oriented, get-things-done professional who can think strategically, adapt quickly, and rapidly earn credibility and trust within all levels of the organization. Maintaining strong relationships with our internal stakeholders spread across time zones and developing lean and impactful results will be critical to your success. The Facilities Operations Integration Engineering Project Engineer designs, implements and continuously evolves business processes to support all aspects of the Facility Operations organization. In this role, you will work closely with leaders within Facility Operations, key Infra Data Centers business stakeholders, and end users to devise optimized solutions for business problems and own delivery from concept to creation.

Data Center Facilities Operations Integration Project Engineer Responsibilities

* Architect mid and large scale, strategic programs for the Facilities Operations Integration Engineering team that ensures consistency across Facebook Data Centers globally, while demonstrating excellence in execution and consensus building across cross-functional teams.

* Define and manage program stakeholders across various cross functional teams.

* Analyze existing business processes, identify gaps, conduct root cause analysis (RCA) if needed, and find opportunities for improvement.

* Coordinate programs/projects and their interdependencies between various other projects in the portfolio and/or among other stakeholder groups.

* Support key programs developed by the Facilities Operations Integration Engineering team supporting Facebooks overall data center retrofit and modernization effort.

* Monitor program progress and health against key metrics (schedule, budget, etc.) and communicate regular status reports to executive leadership and stakeholders.

* Work cross functionally and across regions to develop detailed business requirements and quantify pain points around operational issues.

* Develop outward communications, standards, and publications for teams within Facilities Operations, as well as the larger Infra Data Centers organization.

* Develop execution plans and schedules. Establish, analyze, and publish critical performance metrics to measure progress and success.

* Support day-to-day operations for the Facilities Operations Integration Engineering Team.

* Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed (25%).

Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or commensurate experience

* 4+ years of work experience in program management, with track record of leadership in execution of large-scale programs

* Experience with retrofit projects live data centers or other mission critical buildings

* Experience with understanding operational challenges and solving problems in various areas of business, while continually building Facilities Operations domain expertise

* Experience evaluating audience and using cases to determine priorities and negotiate timelines for deliverables

* Experience working directly with management as well as people at all levels, including executive level, both inside and outside of the company

* Track record of attention to detail, flexibility, and experience managing multiple projects and assignments

* Experience with building and executing communications plans for strategic initiatives, including compiling executive briefing materials

* Analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills

* Experience executing on multiple implied and explicit tasks simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

* 8+ years total work experience

* Experience with retrofit projects in data centers or other mission critical buildings

* Formal project management training and experience
