The Retail Category Specialist is responsible for maintaining existing relationships with the customers within their territory (independent and small chain convenience retail operations), grow sales revenues and profitability with existing customers by expanding the range of products and programs purchased from Eby-Brown, and help the customers grow their business through implementing programs, strategies, and best practices which support the success of the retailer/customer. The Retain Category Specialist reports to the Plants District Sales Manager.

Essential duties and responsibilities are as follows:

* Maintains the customer relationship, and be the point of contact/expert on Eby-Brown goods (immediate consumable including tobacco products, candy, grocery, foodservices programs, coffee and numerous additional offerings) and services.
* Analyzes convenience retail operations and using a consultative sales approach, increase Eby-Brown revenue through increasing product distribution and retail sales velocity.
* Presents Eby-Brown programs which will help retailers earn incremental revenue and grow their sales.
* Ensures customers are effectively purchasing and merchandising goods in accord with leading retail strategies, by managing shelf labels within stores.
* Trains customers to use and understand Ebys proprietary data and technology.
* Strong computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Office are essential for day to day operations.
* Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in related field of study or four (4) years of outside sales experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Able to write Microsoft Office reports and correspondence
Able to learn and use SAP programs
Able to speak effectively before individual or groups of customers or employees of organization
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, percentages, margins and volume.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Proven track record for achieving and exceeding sales goals.
Strong overall computer skills including all Microsoft office programs Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in related field of study
