SUMMARY
The overall purpose of this position is to develop models for deformable image registration and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies for strategic research collaboration and deployment into the clinical setting. This position will work independently to lead computational research projects, author grants, manuscripts and commissioning documents, guide research and clinical collaborations, and work with collaborators to integrate image guided cancer therapy models and technologies into the clinical workflow. Additionally, this position will plan, organize, and participate as a team member in Image Guided Cancer Therapy Research Program projects, assign and review the work of the research team, set and track team goals and objectives, evaluate research output, and revise techniques and approaches to ensure continual improvement and progress.
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Artificial Intelligence Completes data mining, predictive modeling, clustering, and classification. Develop, train, and apply deep learning in large data environments.
Research Studies Engages in research, design, and implementation of deformable image registration and artificial intelligence technologies in image guided cancer therapy. Collaborates and coordinates with research and clinical stakeholders, communicates findings and applications via abstracts, poster and podium presentations, and publications. Independently leads project development, collaborations, grant and manuscript writing, prepares reports to detail methods, results, and impacts of assigned tasks and projects.
Administrative Functions Plans, organizes, coordinates, and participates as a team member in research projects involving artificial intelligence and deep learning. Reviews, evaluates and correlates research data. Prepares drafts of protocols, research grants, commissioning documents, manuscripts and grant reports. Reviews work of research team, determines specific goals or objectives to be attained, evaluates resulting research data and revises techniques or approaches to work problems.

Required Degree:PhD in one of the natural sciences or related field or Medical degree.
Preferred Degree: Doctorate
Required Experience: With PhD, no experience required. With Medical degree, two years of experience in experimental or scientific work.
Preferred Experience: Experience with Machine Learning and Deep Learning techniques for algorithmic development and statistical modeling.
