Job Description

Measurement Engineer - Corning Incorporated (Erwin, NY). Developing, assembling, and deploying measurement systems in manufacturing to support the metrology, inspection and testing of Cornings products; working with cross-functional groups to define, develop, and implement measurement and instrumentation systems; transferring technology from early stage development to manufacturing; designing experiments and analyzing data to identify and implement improvements to measurement systems and production processes; creating and updating documentation for release to production, including machine specifications, operating procedures, and drawing packages; training engineering, maintenance, and operations employees on the use and maintenance of measurement systems; and providing remote and on-site troubleshooting using data and performance analysis of installed systems. Up to 10-40% domestic & international travel (Asia, Europe). Requires Masters in Mechanical, Computer or Electrical Engineering, or Physics or Optics + 2 years exp working with measurement or control systems engineering. Must include: 2 years exp programming in LabVIEW, C, Visual Basic or C++; exp qualifying measurement systems using Measurement System Analysis; exp designing, building, and debugging systems with electrical, optical, and mechanical hardware for manufacturing; and exp integrating and programming motion control systems.
