Business Systems Analyst - Power BI

Job Summary:

The Business Analyst is a business partner, supporting Finance reporting and analytics, utilizing various applications, with strong focus on Power BI, to deliver high quality dashboards and other analyses in an enterprise environment. The role will work closely with Airgas Corporate Finance departments (e.g., FP&A, Credit & Collections, Treasury, etc.) as well as the Airgas National Information Systems (NIS) Business Analytics team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

* Work with the Corporate Finance organization to gather requirements, develop and maintain automated dashboards, KPI/metric reports, and data visualizations using Power BI

* Translate functional specifications into technical specifications, including tasks, timelines, and time estimates

* Analyze data and develop outputs/solutions which will provide actionable insights to financial and business operations

* Evaluate and understand multiple data sources (SAP ECC & BW, Azure Cloud, external databases and other) in connection with reports and dashboards

* Assess and improve existing reporting and processes, helping to identify enhancement ideas and improvements in ad hoc reporting requirements

* Design or enhance relational and dimensional data models in Power BI, including related security management

* Serve as a key liaison between the Corporate Finance and the NIS Business Analytics team

* Supplement NIS Business Analytics team, where possible, business unit Finance associates that are involved with Power BI development

* Serve as the Corporate representative on the Power BI Super User Council

COMPETENCIES:

* Bachelors Degree in Business/Finance, Business Analytics, Information Systems or related field.

* At least 4-6 years of experience using Power BI (including M code and DAX), data storytelling / visualization, report publishing, security.

* Hands-on experience in writing DAX calculations, Intermediate or better proficiency in DAX

* Advanced knowledge of Power Query

* Experience creating BI reports based on inputs from a variety of data sources

* Additional experience in financial planning and analysis a plus

* Proficient in data analytics, SQL, MS Excel, Google Suite applications

* Excellent analytical thinking for translating data into informative visuals and reports

* Ability to prioritize workload and self-manage projects, handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines

* Detail oriented and strong problem solving and decision making skills

* Excellent written and oral communications skills; ability to lead discussions, present ideas to audiences of all sizes, and interact with all levels of the organization.

* Working knowledge of SAP ECC or SAP BW systems preferred
