Position Summary:
Receives and routes all incoming calls from inside and outside hospital by use of telephones, beeping equipment, paging equipment. Provides communication service between the hospital, offsite facilities, employees, physicians, and the general public. Accurately utilizes the features of the PBX consoles, headsets, telephones and other related equipment. Monitors the hospital alarm systems to include P.A. Fire System, Silent Knight, Code Blue System and two-way radios Notifies appropriate personnel as required. Has the ability to respond quickly and accurately to disaster and emergency situations as required while remaining calm. MUST WORK WELL UNDER EXTREME PRESSURE AND HAVE EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION SKILLS. Documents sequence of events pertaining to hospital related emergencies. Corrects and updates posted information as needed. Assists with the maintenance of directories on-call list, etc.
