SUMMARY
Administration and coordination of the daily activities, maintenance, and ongoing project work related to the various benefit plans for employees of the subsidiary companies of Westlake Chemical Corporation (the Company) in the US and Canada. Serves as a contact person for benefits related issues, including employee queries and support of local HR business partners. Uses independent judgment and decision making to evaluate and make recommendations about benefit plan administration.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Maintains specific knowledge of the Companys health and welfare benefit plans and the processes necessary to administer the plans, and develops deep subject matter expertise for the benefit plans for which he/she is responsible
* Responsible for the daily administration of various benefit programs including, but not limited to: Dental plans Vision plan Employee Recognition / Service Awards Educational Assistance / Tuition Reimbursement Dependent Scholarships Life Insurance plans
* Serves as a contact for claims questions/resolution
* Prepares and/or analyzes benefits cost and utilization reports, including preparation of internal monthly and quarterly reporting of total costs to management
* Responsible for the review and audit of Workday enrollment and eligibility data
* Works with vendors, carriers and consultants regarding the daily administration processes of each plan for which he/she is responsible
* Works directly with providers to develop and/or update communication materials.
* Coordinate the drafting and preparation of certain compliance materials as required, including, but not limited to: 5500 filings, Summary Annual Reports, Summary Plan Descriptions and Master Plan Documents for the benefit plans for which he/she is responsible
* Responsible for review/update of benefits website content related to the benefit plans for which he/she is responsible
* Provides training and assistance to field personnel
* Supports other benefits programs, as requested
* Develops and/or maintains administrative procedures for the duties of this position

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
* Typically requires a Bachelors Degree with two plus years of professional experience and a general knowledge of employee benefit principles, practices and procedures.
* General knowledge of laws/regulations pertaining to benefit administration in the U.S.
* Experience managing benefit programs in a chemical manufacturing or general manufacturing environment helpful
* Experience using Workday preferred
* Ability to research/resolve problems or issues in a timely manner
* Ability to work independently to resolve issues or problems on a day-to-day basis
* Strong communication skills (verbal and written) in a corporate environment
* CEBS or similar certification preferred
* Proficiency with Windows based software (specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
