Job Description

The Distribution Operator complies data, fills out planners, and distributes processed information from the data center using greenbar and other materials to instruct production on what needs to be processed.

Required Skills

1. Organizes greenbar (printed information from the data center) and other materials (provided by project managers) by separating it into categories to be distributed to the team mailboxes and production.
2. Creates EPIC workbooks using application reports and delivers the workbooks to production as notification of a client project that is ready for imaging.
3. Assists the Data Center Operators and the Media Librarian in handling production tape requests, application processing tape mounts, and tape filing.
4. Maintains the printer by changing Toner cartridges and by cleaning residue left by paper and Toner to keep the printer in good working condition.
5. Assists operations in escalation of automated EPIC workbook updates.

OTHER POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Answers the phone and responds to queries as needed.
2. May include other duties as assigned.

Required Experience

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

1. This Position requires:

1. High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

2. Good computer background with the ability to work in both the mainframe and PC environment simultaneously. Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, and database programs is required. Keyboarding skills of 50 wpm minimum.

3. Excellent communication skills both oral and written.

4. Good problem solving abilities and the ability to handle stressful situations.
5. Describe to what extent the position requires a knowledge of company policies, procedures, organization and industry practices.

Needs to be familiar with the daily functions of the plant to identify and follow distributed material. When problems arise, the Operator needs to know company procedures on who to contact, as well as escalation procedures. Must be willing to work flexible hours and rotating shifts.

1. Describe the nature, extent and purpose of contacts with internal and external customers necessary to carry out the responsibility of this position. Communications skills should be described, both oral and written.

The Distribution Operator is continually communicating with project managers, and computer operators. Communication, both oral and written, is also important between shift changes. Recording accurate information in the distribution log, as well as thorough briefing at shift changes is vital for performing duties.
