Dow Jones seeks an experienced Technical Product Manager who is as comfortable presenting solutions to clients as s/he is debating technical trade-offs with software developers. This unique role requires hands-on troubleshooting and solution engineering on one hand and an entrepreneurial approach to achieving commercial outcomes on the other.

In this role, you will be expected to:

* Lead and manage the development of multiple digital products and features on behalf of Wall Street Journal | Barrons Group advertising clients.
* Scope and define web platform migrations and front-end redesigns for key clients.

* Translate commercial needs for technology leads and accurately relay feedback from architects and engineering directors to broker efficient compromises.

* Work with account management and sales teams, engineers, data analysts, designers and other partners to understand client objectives, recommend product solutions and rationalize strategies with time and budget constraints.

* Communicate clear, concise requirements and write user stories that unambiguously present acceptance criteria (i.e. what success looks like).

* Confidently triage and troubleshoot operational issues.

* Authoritatively address customer feedback, explaining why your products work the way they do and proposing practical solutions to close perceived gaps in functionality.

* Develop strong relationships with stakeholders and promote data-driven decisions to drive business results that have impact now and into the future.

Ideal candidates will have these skills and qualifications:

* 5+ years experience working with large-scale, consumer-facing websitesideally in client-facing roles, whether at a digital agency or media company.
* Detail-oriented with excellent organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

* Excellent troubleshooter with an intuitive understanding of web applications.

* Able to retrieve, review and understand system logs, content feeds, etc. and quickly diagnose what component of a workflow or process is causing unexpected outcomes.

* Able to comfortably and confidently interact with diverse (technical and non-technical) audiences, spanning all levels of organizational seniority.

* Firm sense of accountability and ownership of product success.

* Familiar with the role of a Product Owner in the Agile software development lifecycle.

* Able to think critically and constructively about complex business problems, clearly communicate your analyses and present solutions that address business needs.

* Able to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.

* Diplomatic, with a knack for synthesizing and prioritizing stakeholder requests.

* Demonstrated ability to use persuasion, rather than authority, to resolve disagreements.

* Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience preferred.

* Familiarity with the Gutenberg block editor for WordPress will be helpful.
