Overview

The Enterprise Solutions - Senior Project Manager (PM) position will be accountable for the overall successful planning, management and execution of medium and large scale business and technology projects. This role will have primary project responsibility over large-scale global technology and process change projects. The Senior PM responsibilities include managing system and process integration to standard platforms, vendor deliverables, internal (HCP) cross-functional teams throughout the project life cycle, and executive status reporting.

Responsibilities

* Perform all project management standard tasks following HarperCollins methodologies while utilizing approved tools, dashboards and templates, including:
* Project resource, effort, and cost estimation

* Project approach and management of deliverables

* Project pre-planning and planning

* Risk/Issue assessment and management

* Resource scheduling

* Communication planning

* Budget management

* Project scope management

* Project status reporting and team meetings as needed

* Project closure activities

* Collaboration with team members to understand project objectives, business requirements/priorities, and deliverables.

* Assist in or facilitate the development of documentation: project scope, use cases, business and technical requirements, design, and integration documents.

* Manage internal and external vendor project resources as needed to ensure successful planning and execution of deliverables.

* Effectively lead team meetings throughout the project life cycle by managing differences and resolving team and project dynamic issues.

* Create and maintain project schedules using MS Project to develop high level and detailed timelines.

* Define and monitor the project critical path and major milestones to ensure that all project phases meet timeline.

* Manage and report on project budget.

* Accountable for communication with all project stakeholders, team members and other project managers on project status, progress or risks or blockers (issues that will prevent the project from moving ahead).

* Managing and obtaining approvals for all change requests that impact timeline, cost or the quality of deliverables.

Qualifications

* BA/BS with minimum of 5-7 years cross-functional, cross-disciplinary project management experience
* Ability to identify and establish priorities, work independently and drive for results

* Experience with managing a virtual team with team members in multiple geographic regions and time zones

* Experience with both waterfall and agile methodologies

* Strong planning and organizational skills

* PMP or comparable certification preferred

* Knowledge of industry best practices, third-party providers, and technologies

* Strong negotiation and influencing skills

* Ability to translate technical concepts into non-technical terms

* Strong customer relationship skills

* Strong verbal and written communication skills

* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

* Prior consulting experience with top tier consulting group and experience with media companies preferred

* Experience in managing projects involving infrastructure, systems integrations and data migration.

* Familiarity with financial and accounting terms and accounting business processes preferred

Location and Travel:

* Travel will be required to various office locations including New York, NY, Scranton, PA, London, UK, Toronto, ON, and other European offices
