The Seagate Research Group has an opening for a Part Time Fall (starting September) Intern in the area of systems security. In this position you will be reporting to the Director responsible for hardware security research in the Research Group at Seagate. You will work on an open-source hardware root-of-trust project and help with the software running on it.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Investigate and integrate (parts) of the OpenTitan (https://opentitan.org) stack
Fix issues found and provide feedback internally and to the community
Provide guidance on how to evolve the overall root-of-trust architecture
Work with internal subject matter experts
About you:
Current MS or PhD student in a related computer science program willing to work 20-30 hours a week during the upcoming fall semester/quarter
Basic understanding of or eager to learn about Root-of-Trust and OpenTitan
Working knowledge of Unix-based Operating Systems
Willing to tinker with FPGAs and low-level code
Have programming skills using languages such as C, C++, Python, or Go
Willing to learn the programming language Rust
